Ford offers the 2015 Focus with a variety of powertrains and body styles to satisfy the needs of a lot of different drivers. Come see them all at Big Spring Ford in Big Spring, TX, where we have a big selection at a small price.
The 2015 Honda Civic is the latest model in that popular nameplate’s history, but they seem to have lost their way with the most recent design.
Civic and Focus are similarly sized compact cars on the outside. Inside, however, Ford gives you a back seat with more head, hip and shoulder room, and nearly the same leg room. You’ll be happy to find the Focus sedan has more trunk space than the Civic too, great for grocery shopping and road trips. Want a compact with even more cargo space? Focus offers a hatchback body style with over 10 cubic feet more room than the Civic sedan; there is no Civic hatchback.
The Focus has a standard 2.0 liter 160hp 4 cylinder, compared to the 1.8 liter 143hp Civic motor. Focus also offers the EcoBoost 1.0 liter turbo, with a bit more torque than the 2.0 motor, and nearly 20lb/ft more Civic. The EcoBoost 1.0 liter gets 1 better mpg in EPA city testing and 4 better on the highway. Civic does offer a hybrid, but Ford has an all-electric Focus with a 76 mile range, and over 30hp more than the Civic Hybrid.
In the performance compact class both companies offer options. Civic SI has a 2.4 liter 205hp motor and the chassis and trim to match. The Focus ST, however, packs an EcoBoost 2.0 liter turbo 4 cylinder with over 250hp, and better mileage. Ford offers the option of real Recaro seats too. Sometime next year there are rumors Ford will bring out an even higher performance Focus RS with 300hp.
